The pressure is created when the soil around your home swells from excessive moisture – especially if your home is built on clay-rich dirt. The pressure continues to push on the floor until eventually it cracks. Floor cracks are also caused when your home starts to settle, or from natural shrinkage of the concrete foundation itself. Additionally, this structural problem can occur if there is a rising water table below your home. The movement and excess moisture will add additional pressure to the basement floor, eventually causing it to crack.
Regardless of the initial cause, you want to repair the damaged floor before water begins to seep into your home. While the cracks may not appear to be very deep, water can still leak through and into your basement, potentially damaging any belongings you may have stored there.

First, we ensure that the surface of the area and crack are clean so dirt and other debris doesn't get inside during the repair process. Next, we inject a polyurethane material into the crack until it is filled from the dirt, up to the top surface of your floor. The repair area will need some time to set; once it is dry, you can paint over or finish it. By sealing the crack, you prevent any future water from leaking into your basement.
